Social Branding

Strong Women Strong Girls (SWSG) is a non-profit that seeks to empower girls to imagine a broader future for themselves through a curriculum grounded on strong female role models. As Social Coordinator for Strong Women Strong Girls (SWSG), I managed the University of Pittsburgh's SWSG Instagram account. Using Photoshop, I created graphics that were style-compliant with the organization's recent re-brand. I also prioritized brand identity  when planning posts for Instagram; weekly #StrongWomanSunday posts spotlighted female role models outside of the SWSG network to promote cross-organization engagement, rather than the #WomanCandyWednesday hashtag that was popular at the time and contrary to SWSG values.

Chapter Guide

Each semester, SWSG holds a city-wide training for undergraduate and professional mentors. During training, mentors receive a curriculum booklet that provides a basic overview of the organization’s background, how mentoring sessions are structured and lesson plans. Despite the utility of this training, a gap remained between the formalized education mentors received on the technical aspects of mentoring versus the operations and expectations of their individual chapter.

To close this gap, I created the SWSG Guide, a conceptual operations manual that outlines the protocol and mission specific to a particular SWSG chapter. The guide would be valuable in helping new mentors better understand how their individual chapter functions. For seasoned mentors, the guide would be useful in ensuring that all mentor responsibilities are executed with the SWSG mission and values in mind. For the chapter as a whole, a core policy guide would help make informal expectations explicit and elevate overall chapter performance.
